December 1-3

We went on Thursday instead of Friday because I got tickets to see the taping for the Late Show. Unfortunately, production was cancelled because Stephen Colbert’s appendix burst a few days prior. We were able to find some last-minute tickets to the Michael Jackson musical instead.
Christmas Market in Bryant Park

We took the subway down to Battery Park and as we were walking around, we found Dewey street.

Dinner with all our friends at Quality Meats

Everyone else went to see Hadestown because we told them it was so good when we saw it last year. Since we had already seen it, we went to Kimberly Akimbo.

We met up with the Sweeney’s afterward for some cheesecake.

The next morning we walked around 5th Avenue until the Sweeneys called asking if we wanted to go to lunch at a Jewish Cafe. We ran into everyone else on our way.

11/1 Carter qualified to run at the regional cross country meet. He placed 39th with a time of 13:05 over the 2-mile course.
11/4 Carter’s soccer game. I was the AR on the game before Carter’s and I forgot to take my camera so all I got were cell phone photos.
11/8 Tucker got skunked again, this time in the backyard.
11/9 We closed on the cabin!
11/11 Raine had another friendly soccer match.
11/13 Carter’s first school basketball game (technically it was a scrimmage).
11/18 Raine’s soccer team had a players vs parents soccer game.
11/26 Raine’s talk in Sacrament Meeting
11/28 Carter’s second school basketball scrimmage.
We spent Tuesday thru Friday at the cabin (without WiFi!!).
11/21 We went out to explore the woods behind the cabin. Raine didn’t bring warm clothes or appropriate shoes.
11/22 We hiked out to and around Washita point.
11/23 We hiked all the way from the cabin to the lake (it was pretty dense in some areas).

Carter hurt his tensor fasciae latae on 9/30 so he didn’t play in his game on 10/7. Raine’s game was cancelled because the team she was scheduled to play doesn’t have enough players to field a whole team and they are tired of losing 11-0.
10/14 the Tornados got kicked out of the league because the soccer association put girls on our team who were too old for the bracket we were placed in. All of our remaining games were cancelled and the games we had played were changed to a forfeiture. The Tigers played us in a friendly since they had a bye this week.
There was a partial solar eclipse during the game.
After soccer, Carter and I went to the BYU v TCU football game (it wasn’t pretty).
10/15 Daddy ran the Waco Ironman for the second time. We drove down that morning but just missed his transition off the bike. We were there to cheer him across the finish line at least.
10/18 Carter had a cross country meet (his first since his hip injury) and Raine had another friendly soccer game.
10/21 Raine was the center referee for the first time in a game with a 3-person crew.
10/21 Carter went to his first haunted house.
10/25 Carter ran in a very wet, muddy district meet.
10/26 Raine was inducted into the National Honor Society.
10/28 Carter had a basketball game.
10/31 Carter went trick-or-treating with Falon and came home with a haul.
9/9 Opening day of the regular season for both soccer and basketball (Carter’s soccer game was out of town and overlapped with Raine’s game so I wasn’t able to get photos of his)
9/16 I missed Carter’s game again because I signed up to referee games before I realized that I hadn’t put Carter’s games on my calendar yet.
9/17
9/23 Carter had a soccer and basketball game, Raine had bye
Carter’s team won their first game and Carter scored his first points on the new team with this layup.

9/30

After school, we drove down to Waco to see the BYU women’s soccer team beat Baylor. This was Raine’s on-the-go birthday cake!

9/22 Raine opened her presents before school.
Raine had to decorate for the Homecoming dance with Leadership and then she had to get ready and go to HOCO, so we didn’t get to have the real cake until Saturday 9/23.
