Tumbling

Today was the last day of Raine’s tumbling class at the rec center so parents were invited to watch. Here they are stretching:

(The kids were so distracted, no wonder parents don’t normally get to be in the gym during class.)
The crab-walk:

Before class, Raine told me that the bars were her favorite, so she was pretty excited that they happened to be doing bars today.

Raine is one of the only kids in her class who can hold herself up above the bar . . . pretty impressive!

Watching Raine attempt to do a back-bend always reminds me just how much she is my daughter. We are both about as flexible as a two-by-four!

At the end of class, Ms Tammy gives the kids a stamp on their hand if they did well. The kids LOVE getting their stamp and anxiously wait with their hands on top of their heads.

Ms Tammy is a fabulous teacher; the kids love her. The moms love her too, because she really won’t give the kids a stamp if they didn’t earn it. She teaches them how to follow instructions and she follows through with her threats when they misbehave.

Here is Raine on the balance beam two weeks ago — it’s a horrible phone photo but it’s all I had.
